1946년 전남 승주 출생. 동국대 국문과 졸업. 동아일보 신춘문예로 작품활동 시작. 대한민국 문학상, 새싹문학상, 한국불교아동문학상, 소천아동문학상, 세종아동문학상 수상. 2001년 타계. 작품으로 『오세암』(창작과비평사 1983)『물에서 나온 새』『초승달과 밤배』『멀리 가는 향기』『바람과 풀꽃』『코는 왜 얼굴 가운데 있을까』『콩형제 이야기』『호랑이와 메아리』『하늘새 이야기』등이 있음.

 

Chung Chae-bong (1946~2001) studied Korean literature (BA) at Dongguk University and made his debut as a writer of stories for young readers with the selection of his “A Bouquet” in the annual literary contest sponsored by the daily Dong-A Ilbo in 1973. He left so many moving stories for children including A Bird from Water, Fragrance That Travels Far, The Wind and Wild Flowers.
