Bill McKibben is an American environmentalist and writer who frequently writes about global warming, alternative energy, and the risks associated with human genetic engineering. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books, Outside, and The New York Times. His first book, The End of Nature (1989) sounded one of the earliest alarms for a general audience about global warming.
